Legal Philosophy
Attorney Maegan Brooks represents individuals and families, emerging and established business and non-profits, community economic development and sustainable initiatives. She handles corporate, non-profit, landlord/tenant, civil litigation, estate planning, divorce, and real estate. Attorney Brooks has a passion for business development and the creation of social enterprises.

Attorney Brooks frequently presents workshops for non-profits and for-profits, on issues ranging from choice of entity, marketing for non-profits, strategic planning and development, to intellectual property and non-profit income generation.
Background and Experience
Attorney Brooks has been a business owner since graduating from law school. She graduated from Boston University with a B. A. in English and African-American Studies. She received an M.S. Degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College, and a J.D. from Western New England College University School of Law. During law school, Attorney Brooks participated in the Small Business Clinic, providing consultation to start-ups, microenterprises, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs.
She has served on many boards of non-profit organizations and is dedicated to economic development and entrepreneurship. She is a former staff member of the Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship, and has focused her career on entrepreneurial promotion and advancement since 2001. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for: WFCR, the Young Professionals Society of Greater Springfield, On Board, Inc., and is on the Board of Corporators of the Mason Wright Foundation. She previously served on the Steering Committees of Pioneer Valley Local First and is a founding member of the Alliance of Black Professionals.
Awards and Recognitions
In April 2010, Attorney Brooks received recognition for her entrepreneurialism and work in the economic development of western Massachusetts with a 40 Under 40 Award from BusinessWest Journal.
